I ss an up close shot of aneers cleric from behind. But then forgot to save it before I shut the pc off. A high elves ass looks good even in chainmail .

Game is looking good haha. I think the graphics are a little behind Aions' (which will be getting a boost once patch 2.5 comes out) to be honest, but they do look much better than LC's, and that's a fact anyone can agree with.

Game is way better than LC...
It got so much into it that you always have something to do. Lots of different quests, Rift Invasions,Footholds,Crafting etc..

The above pics were on her old laptop with the graphics rendering low and everything on the lowest setting. Her new laptop she can run the high rendering and everything maxxed. This game is brutal on graphics cards, course Trion saying due to beta with debug running and optimization not done yet. I play the game with low rendering on my quadcore desktop to get a high frame rate but my card is only ATI 3200 so it looks like that on my screen. I may buy a new card if my fps is below 20 with high rendering at Headstart launch.

Michelle is running it on a Intel I7 chipset 1.7 GHZ with boost to 3 GHZ. 8 gigs ddr, and ATI 5870 card. Game is smooth as silk. At launch I am assuming that if you meet recommended you should be able to play it on high, and minimum on low, but right now you need recommended to play it at all, anything less and after you get out of noobie area fps drops below 5 and it is unplayable.

Everything in the lines is playable area. They have underwater adventures, got a waterbreathing potion, but have not used it yet. Have only been in the water a bit, takes some time to get used to moving around in 3 dimensions.

Now those graphics looks much, much better haha. I retract what I said earlier. It looks great if I do say so now. So you did end up buying that laptop for Michelle? Nice. I'm liking those specs. Is it an Alienware like I recommended, or did you go with someone else?

I wanted Alienware but was not in stock. The quickest laptop that was in stock in best/buy or Futureshop (Canadian version now owned by bestbuy) was the Asus Republic of Gamers edition. Looks cool, not as cool as the alienware but gaming all the way. A bit cheaper at 1400 but not really much, but very.very nice.

It was your info about the I7 and the ddr3 that made me go that way, and always have been a big supporter of ATI cards.

Good good. I'm glad I was able to help you make a decision like that. Bang for your buck makes it worth it. Gaming pc's are pushed towards gaming for a reason haha. I hope she enjoys the laptop for as long as she can. I actually have an Acer desktop. Of course everything in it has been upgraded but the motherboard and processor.

If I upgrade the motherboard, then I'll have to buy soooo many new parts to fit the new motherboard, and I can't do that at the moment, so I might just buy a new processor soon (about $120-$160), and see if that sucker will up my gaming any. If not, then I will have to invest in a new motherboard, as that will be the only thing that could be inhibiting me after that.

I'm sure that 5870 card is amazing as well, because I have the 5750, and it is great. 5750 is about $130, 5770 is about $160, so I imagine her card is about $250-350. Well worth it, though.

Yea these new SS look much better than the previous ones. I might attempt to get a new video card for the sake of having better graphics. I think mine should be able to handle whatever this game has but if not... I'll text Forest when I'm at the store and have him tell me what to get. lol

Hahaha. It'd be better to order one online from a site like Newegg or Tiger Direct. They have better deals and more options.

Shows you how much I know about buying video cards or anything computer related really. Do you think I should upgrade already? If so should I do that thing you were talking about. The 2 cards, each 1 gig, running seperate halfs of the screen or whatever?

Does the crossfire use 2 slots?

Crossfire does take 2 slots, and some motherboards are better at supporting 2 slots than others are.

Yeah, Maug is right. Your motherboard would need to have to PCI-e slots, and then a tiny ribbon cable would connect them on top. Mike, you don't need that type of power to play Aion, but if you wanted to run max settings with a fps of about 60 and anti-aliasing x8, then yeah, that'll do it.

Since my processor sucks I'm running max settings with AAx2. fps is roughly 22-34 depending on where I'm at. Once I upgrade my processor it should run better. Hopefully it's not my northbridge holding me back, though. Then I'd need a whole new board.

I plan on getting a new Sandybridge 2500k within a few weeks, I am giving my old setup to my daughter so she can game some, I am currently using a q6600 and get decent fps and am using the ATI 5870 and with the new board I hope to get great FPS on ultra high settings.

Oh nice. I have the ATI 5750 at the moment and an AMD Athlon X64 I'm not a huge fan of AMD processors. I prefer Intel, but I don't want tothrow $300 on a new motherboard, $350 for the i7 2600k, and $150 for some new ram to throw on that as well. I have ddr2, and any new board I get that would support the second generation processors will only support ddr3.

Oh welllll... I'll just have to accept what I have for now. Now if I'm not mistaken, the q6600 is the old Core 2 Duo isn't it?

my system is:

AMD PHENOM 2 x4 3.4Ghz Black Edition
Kingston HyperX 4GB ddr3 1600mhz
MSI ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB
and the mobo is an Asus with a AMD chipset cant remember mobo model but my system is built into a Spider AMD system

can run with everything max all sliders to the right 60fps with super sampling at 4x now in b5 it drops down to 25fps so ill stick to SSAA off

Heyy all. I will be coming to Rift tomorrow with some Tairen friends (Romulus and DragonRaider who will probably be online before me and a few others). Our beta key starts tomorrow.

I really hope for no issues, but we'll see. Once I get home from my internship I will see how mentally together I am. =D
