Launch Server Poll

The server options are as follows:

Seastone (PvP)
This is our beta server, and it is the general consensus to be the server Guardians will roll on. This is a very,very popular server and will probably maintain a healthy population. The drawback is it is also drawing several big defiant guilds so the PvP would be virtually constant in the contested zones. Several of us experienced this as well, and you do not solo or even 2 man it, just get ganked. Course 3 man we could do quests and even jump the defian solos and 2 man so was good fun.

I just picked it because it was a newer server and the name was cool.

Harrow (RP,PvP)
As was pointed out in the forum, these servers tend to draw a more mature crowd. They also tend to stay busy. This may be to a more dedicated player base and/or just a few server's but either way if it is busy it is good. We are not an RP guild, do not feel like you are obliged to do it, just don't laugh too hard when you hear someone else .

I will leave the thread open until Friday Feb. 11, in the evening. I will post the launch server by saturday. We will be rolling Gaurdian.

If the servers do change for launch and Harrow is our choice, I will just choose a RP PvP server that does not have a sunshine and lollipops name. If by some miraculous event that the voting ends up another server, we will have to vote again.

I guess I will start it out. My vote goes for Harrow. I do not like to see dumb names like IlckPssy (saw it defiant Seastone), on a server. Hopefully a bit more mature and at least some thought into a toons name. I am not an RP'er but depending on the ale intake, I may give it a shot

I vote Harrow. I really don't want to be on Seastone because I fear queues and over population and I agree with the maturity of RP realms. We'll just have to watch out for the ERPers...

I also will vote for Harrow, I think it will be fun acting out you'r person. And like Tolg said there will be a more mature crowd (even tho i'm 15) lol. And i also have never been in a RP, PvP server before and i like to try new things.

We in the House of Maug vote for Harrow, I have toons on Sunrest the other RP PvP server and I can tell you it had a more mature group there that was real helpfull to everyone. I have played on a few RP servers and I can tell you that I hardley ever ran into people that RPed, it does happen but it is usually a planned event of some type. So I think a RP server has maybe 10% real Role Players with 40% lite RPers and the other 50% just regular joe's who picked the server for the name ect.

I too agree that the Harrow Server may be the best place for Tuathadea to call home.

I think that it will be a more mature gathering than anything else. Yup i agree that having a few big defiant pvp guilds to deal with on occassions will be great.

Throwin my 2 cents in as well, also for Harrow. Largely for the reasons posted previously. Yeah, I've been an RP guy in the past (helped run a NWN server, and on fridays when the gang's all available it's either shadowrun or d&d), but in an MMO that's honestly kinda a moot point. I do think though that that server type does have a better chance of drawing fewer asshats. And I know that I for one will be spending a lot of time running around without a crew of y'all to back me up, and when you get home from a long day and just want to log 30-40 minutes and pound out a quest or two or gather crafting mats etc, nothing can ruin your gaming day quite like a 14 year old with add and no bedtime in a contested zone.
Okay, that was probably more like 3 cents. But I won't go a ha'penny more.

Ohh, the good old days of D&D and Shadowrun, had many fun night's playing those games.

I vote harrow. Havent experienced it yet since beta 7 will be my first. All I can say is.. Cant wait to see u guys on beta!

One question.. Will we be playing on seastone or harrow during beta 7?

I vote for Harrow (im on there now with my 12 rogue, but will switch to whatever for beta 7, thinking trying the mage). I also agree with seton - and i agree with the reasons for Harrow above.

One reason why I told Tol to wait atleast after beta 7 can't avoid changes like this.

I just hope we can get on a shard that has a cool name.

Also,

Rift is the first game I have played were the server names are going to change for launch, so it was a good idea to have the poll, a lot of guilds already picked there shard and will now have to change if the shard names get changed at release.

Poll has been closed, Harrow is the winner. Downside is that it looks like the server names will be changed. When we see the new list, those of us on vent will have a chat and pick a Rp PvP server. I iwll post it here and on the new site www.tuatha-dea.com
